Division I Dentists

SINGAPORE DENTAL COUNCIL ELECTION 2018

The term of office for the incumbent members of the Singapore Dental Council will expire at the end of April 2018. As such, election of Council members will be held from Wednesday, 4 April 2018 to Tuesday, 10 April 2018.

2 All Full Registration Division I Dentists will be required to elect five members to the Council. The Minister of Health will appoint another five Division I Dentists, one Division II Dentist and a minimum of one Oral Health Therapist to form the new Council. They will assume office on 1 May 2018.

3 As there are five vacancies, you may propose or second not more than five candidates. The person you nominate must consent to be a candidate in this election.

4 Your kind attention is drawn to Section 7* of the Dental Registration Act (Chapter 76) (the “Act”), stating who may NOT qualify as a member of the Council. If you intend to run as a candidate in this election, you should familiarize yourself with the relevant provisions of the Act and the Dental Registration Regulations. Parts of the Act pertaining to the elections and to the Council are reproduced at the next page for reference.

5 Nominations close at 5pm on Friday, 2 March 2018. You may hand in your Nomination Form at Council’s office at 81 Kim Keat Road, #09-00, NKF Centre, Singapore 328836. Alternatively, you may send the same by recorded delivery or registered mail (NOT by normal mail). Submissions of nominations by email or fax will be deemed invalid.

6 In preparation for the upcoming election, please ensure that you have set up your SingPass and 2FA for the online voting process.
