Renewal of Practising Certificate for Oral Health Therapists

Important information about Practising Certificate renewal for Oral Health Therapists. Learn about renewal requirements, deadlines, and procedures for maintaining your registration.

Under Section 22 of the Dental Registration Act (DRA), all registered Oral Health Therapists (OHTs) are required to hold a valid Practicing Certificate (PC) before they are allowed to practise dentistry in Singapore.


Your current PC is due to expire on 31 Dec 2014. As per section 21E(5) of the DRA, you are required to apply for renewal of your PC not later than one month before its expiry, otherwise, a late application fee will be imposed:


A penalty fee of $20 will be imposed if your online application is not received by 30 Nov 2014 and $50 will be imposed if your online application payment is not received by 31 Dec 2014.

For renewal of your PC, please note the following:


A. CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION (CPE)


Before you apply for renewal of your PC, kindly ensure that you have attained the required CPE points by 30 Sep 2014.


B. ONLINE RENEWAL OF PRACTISING CERTIFICATE (PC)


OHTs who have attained the required CPE points can submit the application for renewal of PC via the online system from 1 Oct 2014 onwards. You may refer to Appendix A for instructions on “Renewal of PC” online.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

All OHTs, regardless of mode of payment for PC fees are required to login to the PRS to renew their PCs after attaining the renewal requirements.


PC Fee

The fee for a two-year PC (with validity from 1 Jan 2015 to 31 Dec 2016) is $100.00 Payment can be made online.


Employer Paying on their Behalf

OHTs whose employer is paying on their behalf are still required to submit their application for renewal of PC online. You can ignore the payment module as your employer will be making payment directly to the Singapore Dental Council.


Update of information

In compliance with section 13(4) of the DRA, OHTs are required to inform Council of any change in practice or residential address. You are also encouraged to update your email and contact number(s) so that urgent information can be conveyed to you promptly.
