Introduction of Certificate of Competency (COC) for Wisdom Tooth Surgery

The Singapore Dental Council (SDC) is pleased to announce the introduction of the Certificate of Competency (COC) for Wisdom Tooth Surgery, the first in a series of competency-based accreditation pathways for higher-risk dental procedures. This initiative aims to support safe, high-quality patient care by providing a structured framework for dental practitioners to develop and demonstrate competency in wisdom tooth surgery.

Dental practitioners who intend to perform wisdom tooth surgeries are strongly encouraged to acquire skills beyond undergraduate training. Dental practitioners who successfully complete an SDC- accredited COC course may apply for accreditation to perform wisdom tooth surgeries.
