Compulsory BCLS Certification

Important requirements for Basic Cardiac Life Support certification. Learn about mandatory BCLS certification standards and renewal requirements for dental practitioners.

Please be informed that for the renewal of practising certificates due on 31 Dec 2013, all registered dental practitioners are required to have a valid Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.The attendance for BCLS will also be considered as a core CPE activity from 1 Oct 2009 onwards.

For dentists who are unable to perform the practical BCLS, they are required to submit a medical certificate which exempts them from such activities. However, they will still be required to undergo and pass the theory component of the BCLS course.
