Certificate of Professional Status (COPS)

The Singapore Dental Council (SDC) has replaced the ‘Certificate of Good Standing’ with the ‘Certificate of Professional Status’ (COPS). The COPS will reflect the basic information about a dentist/OHT's registration status with the SDC, including any other information or actions taken against the dentist/OHT by the SDC.

The COPS is an official certification issued by the SDC, and will only be transmitted directly between SDC and the overseas dental licensing authorities. It is issued solely for the purpose of registration to practise dentistry in overseas jurisdictions. The SDC will not send the COPS to the dentists/OHTs or to their employers.

The COPS is not intended for commercial activities (such as certifying a dentist/OHT is in good standing for his/her application for public listing of his/her company) or application for the APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) issued by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority, Singapore.

Dentists/OHTs requesting for COPS can make the application online.

The online registration will take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete. 

 Processing time

14 working days, or longer for more complex application.

 Fees payable

Dentist: $60 (non-refundable)

OHT : $30 (non-refundable)

Mode of payment : e-payment (Visa / Mastercard)

 Delivery of Certificate

The COPS will be sent directly from the SDC to the relevant requesting authority. Applicant must provide SDC with the requesting authority's email address as the COPS will be delivered electronically.

 Should the receiving authority require a hardcopy version of the COPS, it must contact the SDC directly with appropriate justification for this request.
