The Dentists Register has two divisions. Graduate dentists are listed in the First Division. Dentists without formal qualifications (grand-parented as dentists in the 1950s) and former dental therapists are listed in the Second Division. As of 31 December 2006, there were 1,376 registered dentists in the dental register. Of these 95% are on the First Division and 5% on the Second Division.
